cotton brand suggestions??

im going to be making a shawl for my mom and wanted to do it in cotton, i was wondering if anyone could refer me to a good brand to use?

If you don't mind using a blend, TLC Cotton Plus has a nice sheen and is easy to work with.

I like Red Hearts sport weight cotton yarn.

If you're using thread, I recommend DMC Cebelia. If you're using a "bigger" cotton thread, I recommend Paton's Grace. I'm currently crocheting a shawl of Patagonia Natural Cotton (got it on deep discount), which is soft but bulky and kinda heavy. Don't know what you're going for, but just my two cents.
