Poncho-Palooza...pattern suggestions?

If you make four squares all the same size and sew them together you get a child's poncho. Sew two squares together to make a rectangle, then do the same with the other two. Then sew the rectangles together one end to one side, repeat. One square makes the front, one makes the back, and two make the shoulders.The pattern I got the idea from no longer has its diagram.
