Blocking

I've noticed "blocking" ones work. What does that mean, could someone please explain this for me............thanks, patty

As far as I know, it's a technique that helps the FO retain it's shape, or gives the FO the correct shape. And I've heard of a couple techniques, depending on the yarn (washing &/or steaming), but I've yet to try blocking myself.

I have never blocked anything except thread and then only when it was a bigger project. never really saw the need to block an afghan for example. Maybe someone else will have some input

I haven't had much success blocking yarn but I will almost always block thread projects. It isn't hard.

http://www.crochetmemories.com/crochet7.php this link is very detailed which is great. I don't use starch because I have never made anything that required it so I just use plain water and have had great results. I hope this helps.
