ran out of yarn help

I started what was supposed to be a scrap blanket and it has ended up having a color scheme. I was hoping to make a 9 by 3 square blanket and it's only a 3 by 3. My squares are about 11in. Should I make it bigger by adding other color squares or should I just add a border

Should I add the other colors or just put a big border on it after done joining?

I think you should stick with the same colors you have going on and add a big wide border on it.
