wicca patterns

Sahmlock

Question

Ok, so I tossed around the idea of writing this post..because my intention is NOT offend anyone...

But I did a search on the web and cant find anything...and I wanted to make something for my friend....She always gives me nice crosses, and the such.....So I thought why not go the extra mile and do something that SHE will appreciate.

BUT, I cant find any sites that offer crochet patterns of anything that is wicca related...and it doesnt help that I have basically no idea what i am looking for! hahaha

Hmmmmm. You know....... if someone could come up with a cable stitched pentacle, it could be stitched onto tons of stuff. That would be quite dandy. :)

I am a designer, and my brain went nuts when you suggested using that to make something! If you're wanting a shawl, i'd join them at the points and you should be fine.

Was this already posted:

do you think I could do something with this? Maybe I can make them and join them into a shawl? I am sooo not a designer...

ok, 1st you may want to reboot your computer, if you havent. then go back to cpc (im presuming thats where you found it through, forgive me if it's not) and see if you can find it there to reopen it.

if not, perhaps try looking at your history bkmarks for it. or even maybe your recent options.

do you remember (even part of) the web addy for it?

you and your mom are a refreshing change to the norm. thank you both for your understanding and acceptance!

Thank you. My friend has been thoughtful enough to share her faith with us as well. I think it's before Halloween that Pagans traditionally visit the graves of family and leave an apple (If I've got the time of year wrong, I'm sorry). Our families are burried in the same cemetary. She went to the office to find out where my family was burried and left apples for them as well as her own. We were very touched.

It would be nice if everyone could acknowledge that the path they have chosen works for them, and that God (or whatever term you have for that entity) cares that you seek Him/Her/It out, not necessarily how you choose to do it.

Anyone know where to find a pattern for a granny square pentagram?

If I remember correctly, there is a pattern in one of the books I got for my birthday. It's labeled as being a star but I think with the color changes, you could make it a distinct pentagram center.

PM me so I remember to look it up at home. (I'm traveling for work today.)

Well check this out! Isn't that cute. Except that I realized the star is upside down, if you take the heart out of it. :eek

You could always use a different star or pentacle and incorporate it into the link. I do have some ideas (mostly from this thread but I think it would be against C'villes copyright poilices to list the links here). Just an idea.

I think you're a nice friend for wanting to make her something. I think you're entitled to ask for this just as much as anyone asking for cross bookmarks or whatever.

Not sure if you're looking for afghans but here's some.

You have to buy these patterns but your friend will appreciate your effort:

She has shawls here:

http://sharesdesigns.0catch.com/shawls.htm

Main page of crochet:

Freebies.

She might like this Rune set:

Or a Tarot card bag:

Does she have long hair? She might like this:

She might like this purse in deep red, black, or dark purple:

That should help a little. :)

I was able to find what I was looking for rather quickly! Imagine that!

At this site are some Celtic knot filet patterns. I would consider these to be Wicca-eque, or at least Wiccan enough. Especially the Celtic Cross wallhanging at the bottom

this thread was just started today, and it's NOT promoted as wiccan. however, i can see how we can use it as such.

it's a star, and like row 4 or 5 is a circle. so do the 1st 2 rows in an elemental color(?) or in a star color and then do row 3 n 4 in maybe white for a neutral space (or black), row 5 in a color for the circle, fthen do the rest in bg color.

or can do the 1st 4 or 5 rows (the complete center star and outline of star) in 1 color, do the circle row in another and then the rest in a bg color(?)

what do y'all think?

Sandy

Love the pattern! I can see it in purple...many other possibiiities. It's definitely on my WIM list.

Thanks for finiding the link, Sandy:c9
