Which book to get?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering, which choice would be more wise? The Crochet Answer Book or Teach Yourself Visually: Crocheting?

I know how to crochet alright, but I still have trouble with some things. Particularly when you turn a row, or crochet in the round. I've heard both are good books. Which would you recommend?

I'm thinking of eventually getting both, but I'm unsure which I should get first.

The answer is both... You can get The Crochet Answer book used online - amazon, half.com, etc. - for $1.99 plus shipping. That should leave plenty of funds left over for TYV Crochet. If you have a Michaels or an AC Moore you can use the weekly coupon to get TYV Crochet. You'll be happy you did.

The Crochet Answer book is very informative, lots of info and illustrations, but no color pics.

TYV Crochet is full of lots of photos to help you along the way. It is also filled with projects.

Both are great books and worthy of any crochet library.

My mom gave me a McCall's Needlework Treasury book, and it has everything you ever need to know w/ crocheting, knitting, tatting, etc, etc, etc. It is going to really help me. I've been crocheting for about a year now, and enjoy new challenges.
