I am looking at several people's blogs and was wondering how they set up galleries with photos of wips and completed projects. Also, how do you list the blogs you visit on the side like that with links directly to the other blogs, I need this, I love reading people's blogs. I have also seen little bar graph thingies with works in progress, is that too advanced for me to even ask? Can anyone help me?<img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/shrug.gif" /><img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/TearHair.gif" /><img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/shrug.gif" />

Okay, I am really stupid<img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/ohdear.gif" />. I just figured out how to add the lines of code to the template and add a counter and add links. I am still not sure if I did it correctly on my blog page. And, I hate to admit this, but what in the world in html anyways and how do I add someone's blog by doing this on my blog page. Do I have to go back to the template with all that goobley-gop code stuff and enter some sort of code that makes no sense to me at all? I clearly am in over my head.<a href="http://www.ninakate.blogspot.com" target="_new">www.ninakate.blogspot.com</a>

ok, here is a <a href="http://webmonkey.wired.com/webmonkey/reference/html_cheatsheet/" target="_new">tutorial on html at webmonkey</a> What you would need to do is...gather up a list of the blogs you want to list on your website (unless you choose to use the blogroll service I mentioned before) and use that tutorial to make the links. (you can do this in any word processing program until you are ready to actually add it to your blog) Then you would copy and paste the code in all its glory into your blog. Its not very difficult, it just boring and repetitive! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/sleeping.gif" /> OR if you are feeling tottally intimidated, you could gather a list of the blogs you want and email them to me and I'd make the links for you and tell you where to paste it into your template <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/lildevil.gif" />

Mommiechickie has given you good advice. HTML is short for Hypertext Markup Language, and it is the language that web pages are written in. For my photos, I use Gallery, but it can be kind of complicated if you don't know anything about html. You could set up an album at Photobucket.com or Yahoo Photos or something like that and just link to it from your blog.

As for the progress bars, a lot of folks have used the ones from Anna Knits, but I believe her site is down now. I made my own as gifs in Photoshop.

Either Bloglines.com or Blogrolling.com are good for putting a list of blogs on your sidebar. They have instructions at each of those sites on how to do it.

BTW, Blogger Help is a good source of info. Here are some links to things you asked about:

How can I learn some basic HTML?

How do I edit my link list?

And don't worry! :hug All this stuff takes a while to get the hang of! :sweat

One of my favorite places - the place that taught me so much of what I know is Lissa Explains.

It's a website written by a kid.. for kids. You can't get any easier than that! :))

You are so sweet to offer to do that for me. I may be able to gather this information and add it to my blog. I think I might be able to manage that, if not, you will hear from me.
