Purse frames

Hi everyone

Has anyone made a purse or change purse which has to be sewn to one of those metal snap frames? The type that have little holes around the bottom of the frame for attaching the crocheted piece?

I bought a little kit on Ebay for a change purse made from Moda Dea Ticker Tape and it looks as if it will be really pretty, though I haven't tried making it up yet. I'm just very nervous about attaching it to the snap frame.

I'm guessing you'd probably use backstitch, and it would have to be matching thread of some kind because the Moda Dea's a ribbon. . . but my sewing skills are quite frankly zero and I could really do with some advice.
