Crochet -a- Quilt

JulieKay

Recommended Posts

JulieK: Nooooo you did not!:2nono Start another CAL, LOL!! I would like to work on the one that you are working on eventually, I picked up that magazine some time ago, and to be honest, not sure where it ended up...lol, I had it with me when I was moving. It's still available, I've seen it at JoAnn's and some other places.

I'll jump in when I whittle my other projects down...or at least finish the baby blanket. I hope to make the blanket with cotton yarn, since it's on sale this week at JoAnns, lol!

The other patterns are awesome, btw!

Darn you Julie!!! :2nono Not another CAL! Ok stop twisting my arm already! I'm in, I'm in! I have a pretty quilt-type afghan pattern I printed off the internet months ago. I'll have to dig it out and take a look. I can't remember what it is called or where I found it, but I do remember that it was from a place that said they'd be revoking their free patterns by such-and-such date so I printed it out because I liked it so much.

But seriously, thanks for starting up such a cool CAL. I haven't found the motivation to crochet since I finished my 63-square afghan for my sister in late Feb!! More than a month without real crochet time! I must be sick?:think So thanks for the motivation.

On a side note I started my first crochet project during the Masters (golf) tournament last year and this weekend it is starting again so that must mean it's time for a new project!

Jen

It sounds like you DO have a sickness if you haven't crocheted in a month .

==============HEAL ===============

I have prescribed a new CAL called Crochet a Quilt .

I think that will cure your disorder .

Buy 2 skeins of yarn and call me in the morning . :lol

Look up that pattern and let us hear about it. I think it was from Solutia-- they are the website that closed down all their patterns and they had some nice quilt-type ones .

First of all... I have to say, this is just sick sick sick! :think:lol:think:lol

Julie, you are like a dealer supplying dope to the junkies! :laughroll :laughroll :laughroll

I'm still stumbling along with the 200 blocks CAL that pre-empted my Lace and Bobbles CAL that I abandoned my 35 Grannys CAL to work on! And, now you do this!

Well, let me just be very clear about something...

You will not tempt me, Julie Kay,

You will not tempt me, this I say!

You will not tempt with a pinwheel quilt,

You will not fill my head with guilt!

Log Cabins can just go away,

Save Roosters for another day!

Buying yarn is NOT a cure,

I will not do it, that's for sure!

You will not tempt me, JulieKay,

You will not...

Hey, did I see some cool deals on Webs (http://www.yarn.com/)? LittleKnits (http://www.littleknits.com/) has some awesome deals right now... gee, I do have a JoAnn's coupon and Michael's is just around the corner...

I need to thank you guys one and all for making this such an entertaining and funny morning . Today is my Dr appointment day and I'm a bigger chicken than my 3 year old grandson is about doctors ! So you have kept my mind off the fact that at 2:30 pm I will be sitting in the waiting room sweating bullets .

( * Don't worry, I don't have anything fatal -- it's just a checkup, but when I hear the word doctor I could literally go into a COMA from fear )

Now you all know what a big WOOSE I am .

Anyhow, be thinking of me at 2:30 as you are at home crocheting away, with the wind in your hair , a stiff drink in your hand, and some peaceful music like Rolling Stones on the radio .

* I can't get no, satisfaction * ... SING ALONG ....

No, never mind, that makes me sound like I'm going in for Viagra pills .

NOT TRUE .

( Maybe I should take a stiff drink before I go )

I vote for the one I'm doing -- Around the World, changing colors each round . GORGEOUS .

I can picture it in my head already !!!

Tell your husband to sit in his chair, watch tv and pipe down .

There are CAL's to do .

:ty:waving Well I've never done a CAL before but this sounds like fun. I've been wanting to do a quilt for my future neice (due in July) but this is even better! I'll let you know how my pattern goes as I get to it. Colors? It's always more fun to figure it out as you go...well for me at least! Thanks for the motivation!

Julie!!! how can you do this!!! Its hot as hell summer here and I can't pick up yarn! and I have started too many CALs with you but can't seem to finish them!!! My 63 squares is mocking me and the grandmother's garden is still waiting to be joined and you go ahead and start something which I have been longing to do... Oh well back to back burner all my cals go as I start this one ... Hopefully I will get somewhere with this project before Julie comes along with another winner of a CAL!!!! I think I am going to start the pastel pinwheels or must I start the "around the world" ??? Hmmm decisions decisions....

Do you like green eggs and ham ?

How about that jellied meat called SPAM ?

Do you like to use a hook ?

Well, there's lots of patterns ,

Just take a look .

How 'bout some yarn in greens or blues ?

I do not like blue, but I know YOU do .

If I ask you NICELY what will you say ?

You really won't tell me to GO AWAY .

I know you're my pal and you're here for me

So pick out some yarn .. you'll have fun , just wait and see .

It's not MY fault you have 3 CAL's undone .

You have to lay them down and come in HERE now for the fun .

By the time you get to the 35

I'll be on CAL number 75 .

It's more fun with folks like you

Who are a laugh a minute and a barrel of fun , too .

So drop the 35,63 and MORE

Just throw them suckers on the floor

I won't leave you alone til you agree

You 'll have fun, you will see . :D :D :D

Hey Norma

I think maybe some shade of blue -- I'm not sure what . Maybe you could take a little snip of each of your yarns with you to look for your other color and hold them up together ?

Maybe a dark type blue, or at least like a royal blue maybe ?

Anyone else got any ideas ?

I'm gonna cheat and join in with you guys...I've been working on the Drunkard's Path quilt afghan from Lion Brand's booklet. I've got all the squares made, but I probably won't have them all together with a border before most of you finish your afghans, so it will work out :)

when you get done kicking your own butt, you can kick mine. i'm gonna dive in and probably land on my head. :faint i found a pattern for a triangle-y (is that a word?) half granny square and i could put together a patchwork sort of thing. oh, yeah... instead of joining a million granny squares, i'll join 2 million half grannies. i must be nuts.:loco i hope there's no time limit on this. now, do i want to do a color scheme, or scrap it? hmmm......i think i'll be coordinated this time.:tup
