Hello fellow knitters and crocheters!

For fans of the Stitch 'n Bitch knitting book, just wanted to let y'all know that there's a new one with crocheting patterns, and the publishers have released this really wacky video to promote it... knitters vs. crocheters! Take a looksy! It's a hoot!

I love this video! I also really liked what Debbie had to say in The Happy Hooker about the "war" between crocheters and knitters being kind of silly. Both are wonderful arts/crafts, both are good in similar and different ways (that really does make sense in my head!), and we both share the joy of creating terrific things with yarn/thread with our hands.

 

Of course, I personally have a huge preference for crochet over knitting, but I've been crocheting for 32 years and I've just figured knitting out within the past year! While learning a new skill is great, there's something to be said for the tried, true, and familiar!

My mom knits far better than me, and I crochet far better than her.

 

I prefer crochet because unless I'm doing something like Tunisian crochet I don't have to hold a lot of weight on my hooks. Also, if I drop a stitch, at worst I'd be stuck going back maybe an inch depending on what I was doing at the time.
