Hello to all!!!

Hello to all,

I'm new here and have finally navigated the web of ezboard and logins etc. Took me two days...whew!

I'm new to crochet and to chat boards like this and I'm excited to be here and meet all of you.

I just started to crochet 3 months ago and can't seem to stop. I'm definitely, hooked! :lol I started just wanting to make a scarf and went to my local yarn shop(lys) and was treated like an alien from another planet. So I got online and taught myself! Since then, I've done up a dozen scarves and counting(I just can't seem to stop on those), two hats(one my own design), a purse(again, my own design) and am currently working on a shawl(my own design, again) and a halter pattern from bella online.

I have learned to do granny squares and have a stack I don't know what to do with....and I taught myself to do filet work but didn't know what it was, just thought it was a cool lattice pattern on a scarf.

So...I've been searching the web looking for resources and I agree so many cool knit sights and am so glad to see a cool new crochet sight pop up like this!!! Yeah!!!

What are you all up to?

Hi CrochetCrazy;

Welcome to Crochetville. As a crocheter, I have an issue with LYS. I promise, you won't be treated like an alien from another planet here. :lol

Welcome, crochetcrazy! I'm still pretty new at crocheting myself, really getting "hooked" about a year ago now. Can't wait to get to know you!!

Welcome crochetcrazy!

I could give you some ideas for those granny squares!

I have made a purse out of them (see http://www.yourcrafts.com/Ambersafghans.htm at the bottom of the page) and currently I am helping some of my siblings to make a granny square afghan for charity, while Danielle (sister) is making a granny square vest! There's tons to do with granny squares!

One time I had about two hours and I needed to have a gift for a little girl. AAHH! Well I had some granny squares that had been given to me wipped them up into a purse. It was so cute!

Anyway, I'm don for now!

Welcome again!

crochetcrazy, I believe everyone who has an ezboard account has an ezmail inbox. You can go to the beginning of this board (click on the crochetville link to take you to the home page of this board), look in the top right area where it says you are logged in, and you will see a link that says ezInbox...if you have a message in it it should say you have 1 message in bold. I would click on the ezInbox link anyhow to see if you have messages because it doesnt always tell me when I have new messages. If you log in as you post messages, try loging in to the whole board first, then you should see your inbox link.

Hope that helps :)

Crochetcrazy,

I sent a note to you because I was excited to see a member close to my age...not that it really matters. Everyone here is wonderful!!! And since I am teaching myself to crochet, I thought it might be fun to share the experience.

I wanted to tell you about groovycrochet. I get there by going to Stargazers and finding the patterns from the 60s and 70s. Lots of granny square ideas. :D click on one of these choices and you will probably be sent to the groovy crochet website.
