Not a lurker anymore

Afternoon everyone,

 

I have been lurking and reading for the past couple of days and finally joined up today :yay2

 

I'm Kathy 34 yo and live in Orlando, Florida. I've been married for 14 years, the last 5 horrible, with 3 children 13g, 9b, 6g. My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was about 7 and I continued til I was about 15ish. I was severely injured during a bad surgery 5 years ago(5/99) and to keep my mind off the severe pain I taught myself to crochet again. I absolutely love it! I openly admit I'm not that great at it, but it keeps my mind busy and I just love doing it. I did break my wrist in January and it's still giving me fits so I don't crochet as much as I would like.

 

I have made lots of afghans and hair scrunchies for my daughters. I love making afghans and will probably start another one very soon. Right now my oldest daughter has picked out a pattern for me to make her a poncho. Michael's and JoAnn's had a clearance sale last week and now I have lots of yarn to find patterns for.

 

My kids start back to school August 9th so I'm hoping I will be able to start back on crocheting then. I need to find some things to make for Christmas items for the extended family. I saw someones pictures and pattern for towel toppers and I'm sure those will be in the Christmas pile. Anyone have any other ideas please let me know!!!

 

Ok well I've gone on WAY to long but hope no one is offended! Feel free to drop me a line anytime anyone feels like chatting.

I too was at JoAnn's last week and bought way too much yarn, and then I went to Michaels today and again, bought way too much yarn <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/rofl.gif" /> but you can't pass up $1 skeins of TLC can you?!? I know I can't.
