Why have I never been to this board? I'm addicted to the computer, the internet, knitting, weaving and crocheting and I've never found this board? That's just frustraiting!

Well, now that I've found Crochetville, I'm happy. *grin*

Things about me:

I'm a 22 year old who is in the middle of moving from St. Peters, MO to St. Louis, MO.... I hate moving. *grumble* I'm quite passionate about my fiber arts to the point of having gotten a job at a local yarn store... and having had to quit because of moving. I dearly miss the store and being surrounded by YARN. I love my cats more than a person should love anything in life. Luckily I have a wonderful boyfriend who knows and is okay that he's in second place behind those cats. I love good food. My edible addictions change from week to week. (This week is Greek/Persian food) I love to read, and am reading all those fantasy and sci-fi books my brother always told me I had to read. It's a pretty long list, but I'm trudging through it. I just started working as a Mary Kay consultant, so we'll see how that goes for me. I also try to get out to karaoke about once a week.

Enough about personal me, more about crocheting me! I love merino wool in all it's shapes, sizes and flavors. Alpaca is deffinately up there too. A worsted weight alpaca/merino blend would probably make my heart stop. Cotton and silk are my spring/summer yarns to play with. When you work at a yarn store and get to touch all these yarns all day, you really learn your yarn preference and it sinks in to the marrow. I'm a natural fiber lover. If it's acrylic, I'd rather not use it, though acrylic does have it's place with me. I also got to play with all kinds of hooks, so now only did I become a yarn snob, I got to become a hook snob too! Plastic is no-go with me. Wood and bamboo are where it's at! As much as I detest aluminum knitting needles, the hooks don't bother me one bit. *shrug*

I don't think I left anything out. *blush* Sorry it's so long. I ramble when I'm happy and I'm SO happy for finding this board!

:welcome aboard Ellen! Talk about a dream job, I probably wouldn't bring home a paycheck if I worked in a yarn shop, it would be already spent!

Wow! What a welcome! Thanks all!

Amber: It's the only wool I can wear. I can knit with other wools, but not wear them as a scarf or hat or what have you. My mother is the same way, so I'm knitting her a merino bag. I've been told it's a sin... especially since it's a Schaefer yarn (really un-cheap) but the colors are to die for and my mom will actually be able to use it. I'm not done yet, so I have no idea how it felts. No advice as of yet. *shrug* What company is it by, maybe I've at least used it?
