I got my S & B Hooker today!!!! And I love it!!!!! I ordered it off eBay (put a link for the seller in an earlier post if anyone is interested

Thanks for the link - I ordered my book today. I am an Australian and the book isn't listed on any of our major bookstores websites as being published let alone in stock. I find eBay easier to order from than Amazon. Can't wait to receive it!:lol

I got mine today. I'm not ecstatic, but not diappointed either. There are a few items I look forward to making and I think the illustrations are fabulous and clear. (Not that I need them at this point). Doesn't the sweater that's on the back cover look a lot like the one Jessie made a while ago. That's my favorite thing in the book.

I bought 2 copies today. One for me and one to give away in the raffle I'm holding on my blog to entice people into making 12" squares for Heartmade Blessings.

I got mine today via UPS. I ordered a few days ago from B&N online. I love it!!! There are tons of great patterns in it. I can't wait to spend more time going thru the book, so far, I've just flipped thru it.

Okay, I just got mine today and haven't even looked thru it, but when I saw the back cover that's the first thing I thought, too!! I know Jessi did hers from some instructions she saw on Craftster - I wonder if that's the author of the Happy Hooker pattern, too??

AGGGH. I still don't have mine from Amazon! I went just now to cancel it because it seems I can get it somewhere else faster from what you guys are saying, now it says "We are preparing these items for shipment and this portion of your order cannot be canceled or changed." It better get here soon!

i wasn't even looking for it cuz like most of you, I had assumed it'd be in march. I wandered into a little local bookstore and was browsing cuz i had 15 minutes to kill before work. Lo and behold....there it was!!!! I picked it up and kissed it and hugged it, begged my bf to buy it for me. Told him it was the most anticipated book on crochetville. Hehehehe Of course he bought. paid cover price or a little less and I'm sure happy.

Glad to see she made a SnB for us crocheters too!!!!

I ordered 3 crochet books today and one of them was this book...but I don't have an email from Amazon telling me approximately shipping date...oh well, it always takes me a little longer to get things anyway, so I'll just have to be patient...

Mine came yesterday...finally! I love the book, I didn't notice any missing pages, but I didn't go through that carefully. One problem though is i that some of the pages are stuck together near the binding, and when I opened it all the way I cracked the glue strip of the binding itself, so now a couple of the pages might fall out if I'm not careful. I had it for like 5 minutes and "crack". My husband looked over and said, "Did you just break your brand new book?". I got a good laugh, but I'm mildly annoyed.

Wow, that happened to me too, the cracking in the binding right when I got it:worried ... I thought perhaps I was just over-anxious and had opened it too eagerly:mail !

I am used to taking crochet books, especially soft cover and 'pushing down' on the page to keep it open while I gaze at the pattern thinking: "you want me to what?:huh ," but I see I'll have to becareful with this one...

And I got a good chuckle over your DH's comment too!:laughroll

I went to two different Barnes & Noble stores Wed. last week and couldn't find it, there are more stores to check out, I was disappointed after all the talk about it here. Salesman in one store tried to sell me the knitting version, I don't think so! Charlene

I got mine yesterday, I was very surprised at how fast Amazon was in shipping. I also got Hooked on Style, they had summery patterns, and some that I hope to work on soon.

The book is a nice read, nice patterns, a little too many scarves (what the heck am I going to do with scarves now, lol), I have some scarves to send to GA, but they won't need them too much longer either. I don't normally buy crochet books, just magazines.

There's been a correction to one of the patterns in the book.

Check it out here.

Thank you SO much! I would have never known where to look or even TO look... I learn so much here! I already printed it to put it with the book!

Was in my local Craft Warehouse today checking for any sales/bargain yarns things I can't live without - and there it was - So I did a happy dance and got my copy of the book today. Thanks for the links regarding corrections. Got those for the first two books too!! Also checked to see if mine was missing any pages. None were so now I must finish a "few" WIP then there are several things that are calling to me from this book!!!

Does anyone have the hardcover version? I was wondering if I should get that one, due to the problems with the softcover "breaking." I'd be grateful for info!

I received my copy today from Amazon.com...it was better than I expected and I love the way the author expresses herself...especially in regards to the knitter vs. crochet "holy war" that seems to be going on lately. Her views on the subject reminded me that when one is into needleworks, one skill isn't "better" than another, just different. I've been scratching my head lately reading threads, posts and blog entries on this current attitude about knitters vs. crocheters because I've never really experienced it and I don't recall looking down on knitters or people who macrame or tat or embroider or whatever...I have my skills I like to do and those I don't...but I figure, to each his own...

But I loved her opening about the Sharks and Jets...bravo...

I have a couple of quibbles though, but I realise that it's just a preference and no big deal and not really worth mentioning...except for one thing...

She made mention about something that sounded like knitted socks would be better shaped than crochet and I have to respectful disagree...not that the shape really matters, but I've knitted and crocheted socks and while I love my knitted socks and they've worn like iron, there is NOTHING wrong with the many more pairs of crocheted socks I've made in the past year...nothing...so a shout out to the originator of "Socks in Shoes" pattern from Crochet Me...which got me crocheting socks and I haven't stopped...and I'm considering sending a link of that pattern to the author of this book and saying, "Here try this..."

It's still really a quibble...

Her patterns are really cute, there's a few things I'll eventually try down the road...so many cool things that should help those younger than me get motivated to give crocheting a try. Some things seem like a bit of a throw back to the best of 70's crocheting...

I just really felt validated in my views by her viewpoint, especially in defense of the art of crocheting...well, well done...
