Tutu Motif Poncho

Crochet Fanatic

Recommended Posts

Hey...just completed another (late) Christmas gift for my sister-in-law. This is a pattern calling for Moda Dea Tutu yarn, but I used Joann Sensations Angel Hair instead and used a size K hook to get the gauge right. Also, instead of the fringe they use, I just attached my own.

I bought the pattern book at my local Michaels store. Here is what it looks like:

And my finished product:

And you thought I was done posting....I know, I know. I am almost done for now. :wink

I'm not the only one up late tonight! The poncho is beautiful. I like the texture of it. Normally the ponchos with fringe are not my favorite, but I actually like the fringe on this one. It must be the tutu (sp?) yarn. Was it easy to work with? You did a great job, and I love the blue color. Well done! :flower

Crochetmama,

First of all, thanks for your compliments. Yeah, I am up pretty late tonight. My almost 2 year old doesn't seem to want to sleep tonight, so well, I don't get to either.:ohdear

I used Joann Sensations Angel Hair Yarn instead of the Moda Dea Tutu. And yes, it is very easy to work with and sooooooo soft. The finished product is a lot chunkier than the Tutu Yarn....and a little less expensive.

This is a very easy pattern to follow, and the squares are super easy to join, so I recommend it to anyone! The only downfall is weaving all those ends in. :eek

I love it ! I love that angel hair it is so soft. How many skiens did it take to make your poncho? Again wonderfull job :cheer

Thanks! I used a little less than 5 skeins. I got the yarn at the after Thanksgiving sale at Joann's for 1/2 off at $2.50 each...great deal!
