a "pincher" hook

Here's a hook shape that i'm trying to make conform to a "pinch" type grip (like Three Olive's....in fact this is a hook i'm making for her). I exaggerated the concavity of the finger and thumb pads to conform more to the thumb and forefinger. A result of this effort is the hump you see that's forward of the pads. It seems to help with the feel and grip, but would it get in the way? BTW this one's made from a scrap of some unknown ornamental fruitwood that a friend had collected for his fire pit. Way to nice to burn.

Thanks for the help Rache.. i was a little edgy about that bump.. but it is about 2" back from the tip. Now if i could only crochet like you guys, i wouldn't have so many questions. Course then i'd be making scarves and not hooks. Go figure eh?

I've been pretty tentative about my hooks and it means alot to hear encouragement, and to find that the designs aren't somewhere out of left field.

You guys are great!
