Hi, My name is Lynn thank you for added me to your forum. I'm from Belfast and I've been crocheting now for 3 years but I'm doing an amigurumi doll and it's asking me to chain 7 and then " by jumping back". Does anyone know what that means. I've looked on Google and utube but nothing is coming up. I can't move on with the pattern until I know what this means. All ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to Crochetville from the Gulf Coast of Florida.

Grab your yarn and hooks, put your feet up and sit a spell.

We are always so glad to meet new friends.

This is the explanation I got on here for the same problem of Jump back

"jumping back" means that you have to make a chain and start in the first stitch. This creates a loop for a button

I get the impression that you make your chain and starting with second chair from hook, sc in each chain.

Maybe if you like a better explanation  you can go to Crochet Help.  What is the pattern you are making?
