what stitch is this?

Not 100% this is crochet but anyone know what stitch is used whether its knit or crochet or a similar stitch?

This is more likely knit. If you look at the 2nd photo and zoom where the sleeve meets the bodice, you can see knit stitches. I don't knit so maybe another member that does will recognize all the stitch names.

I agree it is probably machine knit, I do knit but don't know that stitch.

It looks like you could come close to that stitch appearance in crochet however, with rows of 3-DC shell stitches, where row 2 and beyond are made into the middle DC of the shell in the row below, so the shells stack on top of each other.
