Welcome to Crochetville from the Gulf Coast of Florida.

Grab your yarn and hooks, put your feet up and sit a spell.

We are always so glad to meet new friends.

Go to the Crochet help thread, you should get some help there.

Welcome to the'ville, and to crocheting!

Designing a pattern from scratch is something that is easier for an experienced crocheter who has followed a lot of patterns for a lot of different sort of things, from blankets to doilies to toys, than a novice crocheter, so you would be better off finding an existing pattern for a French Bulldog.  Trust me, it takes a lot of experience making different things, and trial and error even just to tinker with an existing pattern to get it to fit or otherwise to your liking.  Starting from scratch is a whole other thing.  I'm not meaning to discourage you, but just trying to get you to your desired end in the least frustrating way.  Let's put it this way, I've been crocheting over 50 years, have crocheted everything from garments to elaborate lace doilies, and tinker with a lot of patterns, but would look really, really hard for an existing French bulldog pattern if I wanted to make one.

Here is the most realistic looking free pattern that I could find https://stringydingding.com/french-bulldog-boston-terrier-amigurumi-free-crochet-pattern/

edited to add, this is the most realistic pattern I found, but it is not free; you would have to join Ravelry (that par is free!) to download it--
