Ok we need to have an intervention with our knees.  It is time to put our feet down and tell them to stop it.

Well, the guy was here at 7:30 and did a great job.  I do not worry that I will slip and fall getting off the toilet.  They are strong and sturdy.  It may not be pretty, but who cares as long as they work.

Off to me corner to see what the world is yelling about.

Have a fun day.

Make sure my knees get the memo!  I somehow hurt my left one in Nov.  Seems to be finally getting better or at least not near as bad so I have been trying to walk and do more.  I have lost mobility and stamina over the past year. My built in exercise was gone because of covid----no walking to lunch and back, no walking into places from far end of parking lots, no walking pushing carts in stores, and no walking at all the things we were going like church, dulcimer, bonsai.

Its raining here this morning.  Going to catch a local church service on tv pretty soon.  Planning on going back to ours in two weeks.  Want to finish the series out with the one on tv.  Ours was doing a community service Sun today instead of having a sermon.  There again I have gotten spoiled and lazy---sleeping later and lounging around in sweats for church.

Mary Jo pretty is eye of beholder.  We had to get used to seeing cords hanging on the wall in the bedroom and bathroom, a box with the speaker and button that has to be on the visible floor visible in the living room

Oh wow.  Our pastor just called and asked if it was possible for some people could bring us lunch as part of service day.  So excited to see who it will be.

Two years ago we replaced our stair banister (2 story house) with an extended banister that wraps the landing step. Also added bars in the walk in shower.  Not cheap, but cheaper than broken bones.  I dont strictly need them yet but safety meaures have benefits for anyone who uses the stairs or shower.

You are so right!  I have slipped and fallen down stairs with no handrail back in my more pliable days.  I have friends that for the last several years thst when it was time to redo things it was done to prep for their senior years.

Good Morning: It's probably afternoon where all are at. Seems like I'm the only one in the Southwest that posts anymore. Where IS everyone? Geesh with over 8K members, and only a few posts. Sad.

I've not been up to much the past couple of days. Another knee sufferer here. And boy, is it on a rampage now. There is not any meniscus left between the bones. My knee is starting to collapse too. Guess we belong to the Mini-cussers club (play on words there) LOL!!! Hang in there gals! I know how painful these knees can be, not to mention dangerous. And I refuse to take any narcotics.

The first orthopedic surgeon told me my problem was from being a jogger in my 20's and 30's. This last ding-dong I saw said it was from too much golf. Never did hurt my knees playing all that golf but I sure messed up my rotator cuff. Plus, the addition of acute arthritis. Yet, no one wants to do anything for the pain. That's what gets me. Ah- such is getting old. Golden years? NO! Rusty years!

On a lighter note; Only 77°F today. That's a switch from 92 the past week. Now I can sit on the back patio and crochet in the fresh air. As I mentioned before, the new afghan is going well. It's moving along fast. I'm just not decided on the style once I finish the first color. DD is going to pick me up a few skeins to make sure I have enough. Tonight is Sunday Family dinner night. Grilled Teriyaki on skewers. I don't know what the sides will be. That's the fun part.

I'm not sure about the complete mask requirements here. I do know the Gov took down the requirement and left it up to each county. I wear one still, but, I only go to the doctor's office.

Now I'll drag my leg into the living room and crochet a bit. Then I need to water my house plants and finish a load of laundry. Real exciting- right?

I hope all have a super day.

Well it is very humbling to be one of the projects for our church's service day.  Five of them braved 45 miles in pouring down rain.  We are relatively new members ( 4 years) there too.  They had pics on FB yesterday of the meat going in the smokers.  Lea they brought us smoked pulled pork, buns, chips and several cookies.  All good but best of all was seeing the ones that came.  I was glad restrictions here had been lifted so we could have them in for awhile.  Dh and I wondered who was coming and one of my top 3 wishes was there--- Jordon.  Not sure what the proper terminology is any more----Downs, special needs, or what but Jordon is a joy to be around. He is how I knew we had walked into the right church.

Well, how nice, we can call it granny knees and chatty friends, a club I hate we all have to belong to... Katy how are your knees?

We did tele church and I crocheted some more water balloons and an 18 inch doll back pack...

I am listening to an awesome audio book ( if you like history) called Killing the Mob,...its a 11 hour audio book and I am almost done in 2 days!

Lea you nailed it---granny knees and chatty friends, a club I hate we all have to belong to.  It is the most loving church I have set foot into.   First time we walked in and  saw how the pastor and the congregation interacted with Jordie we knew it was a special place.  When we started going we never got  involved in anything and tried to not get too attached because we knew we would soon be moving in 2 or 3 years.  We dont have deep pockets and not really anyone of importance to speak of.  Before we moved we felt funny when one young couple approached us about the church having a pancake breakfast because we were moving.  We said it wasnt necessary and we were planning on driving out there to church as long as we could.  Derek just grinned and said it gave them a good excuse to eat. One of the first ladies that greeted us has mailed us a card once a month for over a year now and we have received cards from others.

Thankfully it has been a very quiet here today. I did church online, they are actually livestreaming again instead of prerecorded sermons. I did a little weaving and a little spinning. Made some oven fried chicken and baked sweet potatoes for dinner for my parents and myself. I've been cooking dinner since my dad was in the hospital. Dad said he would start cooking dinner again but they were eating a lot of canned vegetables and baked potatoes and almost no meat, poultry, or fish. The kidney doctor said dad needs more salt and protein in his diet so I'm making sure he is getting protein with dinner. Mom and Dad both drink Boost a couple times a day which should help too. My granddaughter had her 1st dose of covid vaccine yesterday and thankfully no side affects today. Back to work tomorrow, 17 school days to go.

Have a great evening!

I have to laugh, as you were glad to get back to work.  Kids can do that.

Yeah Reni, I can sympathize with the no meniscus.  That is my left and right knee.  In the left I had 2 treatments where for 5 shots they put in gel between the bones.  I am hoping that they can do that to this knee and all will be well.  The only thing that bothered me with the new Dr. is he right away started with, well you know with your weight, that does not help you knees. (NO SH-T.)  I should be use to it by now.

We are going into the 90's today and the humidity is back.

Our friend is coming over to work around the house and we have someone coming in to help us today.  So busy house today.  I am finally getting my hair washed.  I can not stand it any longer.

We are lucky ratdog, we are on one floor, so no railings needed.  Our shower you have to step down into it.  I would have to have the floor raised and the whole shower redone, but after using these bars for a couple of days, I am ready.

Well, enough, so from a member of the granny knees and chatty friends club.  Have a fun day today.

its nice to see more participation on this tread, this locked knee still hasn't resolved, today it hurts to put weight on it, may go to ER to get it checked out

Mary Jo like really on the weight?  Sometimes dh says why dont you go to the dr and I tell him I dont need to pay a dr to tell me I'm overweight.

Another day with bands of rain.  Its in the forecast for days now.  I had gone for a walk everyday for a week until yesterday because of rain.  Even if its to walk over for lunch and back I took a walk.  I usually made a lap around the golf course and little lake on the way back.

Lea a couple years ago the pastor was Jordie's escort to prom.  They put a picture of them both up on the screen of them in tuxes next to a limo.

Lyn oh no not the ER!

Oh Lyn sorry to hear about the knee and NO not the ER.  Though it is an interesting place to listen to what is going on.  One girl was having a baby one came in with an overdose and the guy next to me keep yelling that he needed someone NOW he had to pee.  I laughed at that one, it reminded me of a little kid at the movies.  We were waiting for the movie to state and he kept yelling Mom I gotta Pee. It is funny what we find humor in. Good luck with the knee.

One home care down and the second coming in.  Made my list for the second one.  First one washed my hair and I feel human again.  I can't stop touching it.

We did get a call from the landscaper this morning, they will be here Wed. to start and hopefully they will get the pavers on Friday.  So that will be another thing out of the way.

Finally got to some of my thread and I hope to be working on some of that this afternoon.

Enough Whining, time to see what is going on in the world.

Have a fun day.

well no one is getting any younger, right, lol  got started on my next ghan i put squares into rows first, then sew or crochet the rows to each otherone at a time in the end, , that way i have more control over how they line up, no two colors together or clashing lol Then after sewing or crocheting the single squares into a row, I roll them up, rubber band them in the roll,  and stick on a preliminary line up number, like i said subject to change further into the ghan lol   I have done 6 out of 9 rolls of rows as of this am, 3 more to go lol  these people that make squares do such fantastic work, makes my job fun lol  so that is today, more to com, as it is more than  half past Eagle O'clock lol  or if you'd rather. quarter to robin o"cloock i guess lol
