Rain rain and more rain. Saw gators and flamingoes marching two by two past the house today......

Yes, the yarn tossing was horrible.... Chris said he felt like he needed to go home and take all the sharp objects out of the house🤣

Weatherman was bold and forecasted 100% chance of rain today so another cloudy damp day here.  He also had the audacity to say our chances for rain this coming week were greater than it was for this p

Good Morning.

Thank you Brenda, it is good to know what is wrong.  Now to see the Knee Dr.

So sad about that young man.  That is what scares me with my grandson, being a State Trooper.

Well, cloudy today, lets see what happens.

Have a fun day.

Scares me about my niece too. She is a field agent for MO Dept of Conservation.  Hadnt thought much about it until they showed the film from bootcamp at her graduation. Then it hit me like a lead balloon seeing them crawling around using assault rifles and something was said about the dept getting called in to help with riots near St. Louis.  She is in a rural county and works closely with sheriffs dept basically giving them another deputy.

Starting to cool down a bit here so I can tolerate walking outside again. Since dh wasnt booked up this morning we walked to a Village restaurant for breakfast.  Checked out the art room since they just opened it back up and we had never seen it.  Stopped at bowling alley.  Dh started on league and wanted to practice some.  I decided to try.  Last time I tried was many years ago and afterwards my back and knee hurt really bad.  Got to thinking maybe if I used a lighter ball.  Mine was 15 pounds.  It was no problem when I was 18.  Bowled for about an hour an walked back home.  Waiting to see if I can still walk by evening.  Shoulder wont count as it already ached from looming 13 hats.  Meeting bonsai friends to night for dinner.

Good Morning.  Up at 6 this morning and the rain came down at 7.  Now the sun is coming up.

Brenda sounds like you had a busy day yesterday.

Have a fun day today.

Brenda, hope the bowling didn't cause any lasting problems. Your retirement community sounds like a really fun place.

Mary Jo, I'm sure it's nice to have a specific reason for the knee issue finally identified and hopefully the dr can come up with a recovery plan, one that won't take too long.

Thunderstorms during the night continuing this morning. I've always liked hearing them, assuming they aren't causing damage.

I had the 8-year-old grand Friday night and most of Saturday. She's largely self entertaining. I promised the 3-year-old he could come over after lunch and it's doubtful he'll get here without the 4-year-old, so I'm taking it easy this morning. Hoping to get a few chores done while they are here.

A busy week coming up. I finally made an appointment with a chiropractor last week and I have two apts this week, plus keeping the grands Wed morning, and finally getting a haircut Thursday.

I haven't gotten any crocheting done in a while. I committed to crocheting a border around several knitted baby blankets for the friend of a friend, but she hasn't brought them yet. Still have a sweater to make for Mary to match Madeline's (grands), and I need to start on a couple of blankets for the grand coming in Feb. And yet I sit in front of the computer or TV too much of the day. Surely inspiration will hit at some point. LOL

Not too much going on with me personally. I do lead a quiet life here.

I talked for 3 hours on the phone with my DD-2 in nor-Cal last night. My oldest GD (32) has Covid and is in isolation at my DD's home. Plus, DD found out yesterday that my oldest Grt-GD (13) may be infected also, but, she has not been tested yet. That gets done today. DD is so stressed out since this has happened. Thank God DD is at least completely vaccinated and takes all necessary precautions. She has to wear a mask in her own home and says she walks around with a canister of disinfectant wipes in case GD touches something. I pray the other 3 younger Grt-Grands stay healthy. GD refuses to have the vaccine or let her oldest have it.

The county fair started this last Thursday and it will be the 2nd I have missed in 45 years. From what I can tell in the local online news, it's not as large as previous years but, is going strong including the food courts and carnival. In the photos, hardly any are wearing masks, so that in particular keeps me from going. That and not being as mobile anymore. So be it.

Hope all enjoy the weekend and have beautiful weather. Cheers!

Hi Reni :)

I do understand why why your GD is hesitated about getting that Vaccine and giving that to her kids. After all those are new vaccines, we do not know what effect that might have in a long term..??. Young people and specially kids have a whole life in front of them. If something bed would start showing up because of that in the future that would be horrible for those young people.  Yes, it is little scary to put something in your body that might harm you. Specially because there was NO study done on kids & that vaccine. They just want to vaccinate all of them with the same dosages's as adults who are twice or more big when it comes to weight :(. According to me something is not right about all of that..  Some of those young boys their harts swells up after second shot.

I advice my daughter to get that Johnson&Johnson vaccine. I think that one might be safer ( I am not sure).

That is my opinion only.

PLEASE who ever got different opinions do not go after me! LOL

good morning

one sis in law still not vacinated, they have to do what they feel best for themselves

Its a tough call since we know so little about long term effect of having covid.  Do you really ever get over it? Or surprise! Problem shows up years later  like polio did for some or how about shingles because you had chicken pox as a child?  Just not enough data to know yet.  And they wont know till the youth of today grow old. I am puzzled as to why people refuse the vaccine yet when they catch covid  beg for antibody therapy.  Been reading about the nipah virus hotspots.  Its much more deadly.  75% of people that catch it die but it isnt as easily transmitted as easily.

I think there are multiple reasons some are not getting the vaccine. It has that same uncertainty about long term effects being unknown. The fact that it is not a vaccine in the sense we know vaccines, not an injection of a dead or weak part of the actual virus. The seeming reluctance of health agencies to make all the information about the virus and the vaccine readily available for people to make a fully informed decision. The total disregard of natural immunity. The fact that the survival rate is something like 98%--a little higher for younger healthy people and a little lower for older people with health issues. Why isn't there more emphasis on treatment and why aren't there studies on the effectiveness of different treatments?

In Mississippi (from the state health dept site) only 50 deaths out of over 8900 did not have an underlying health issue. Why isn't there more emphasis on being as healthy as possible?

Sorry, I'm stepping away from my soap box.

In years to come it will be interesting to see the data.  The J and J vaccine uses the old methodology.  The methodology for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines has only been around for 10 years.  The exciting thing to me is that thru this new methodology they think they may find  better ways to treat cancer.  If you look to nature we are basically going thru a cycle where disease is thinning the herd.  The old, sick, and weak dont make it and the strong healthy survive.

Good luck with the chiropractor.  I've been seeing one regularly for years and I've found it helps. Just one thought they are much like doctors you may love the first one you see or you may not.  However, if you have a situation where you think it can help and the first one isn't the right one don't give up and not try another.  While most people won't stop seeking medical help because their specialist is not helping I've known people to give up on alternative care because the first person they tried didn't meet expectations.

OK now I sound like a downer and I didn't mean to be one.  I'm hoping you have an amazing experience your first time out and it really helps.

I did like the new chiropractor. He's looking at the whole body picture including strengthening muscles which I know is one of my problems. Muscle tone as well as balance seems to be harder to keep up as I get older. I definitely agree with trying a second dr if the first is not a good fit for you. Sometimes it just doesn't click.

Last day of summer......YAY! I'm ready for lower temps and looking forward to less heat. The 90's usually carry through mid-October, but, since we actually had a real monsoon season this year, maybe we'll have a real Fall season for a change before winter hits. Today the skies are a beautiful Arizona Blue, clear and a high of 90°F. I'll take it!

I've downloaded some pumpkin character/patterns to crochet for the Grt-Grands and maybe after them some hats and pocket scarf sets to gift them for Christmas. They'd probably enjoy some kind of toys/amigurumis too. All toy projects I've previously made them proudly sits on their beds every morning. I try to keep it themed to their favorite animals; owls, dogs, unicorns and dino's. It such a good feeling to know they appreciate my gift to them.

Cheers everyone!

I'm getting frustrated--awake way too early again. It's been a pattern for this week.

I had a very nice visit and supper with my older son and DIL yesterday. He took half a day off for his birthday and they invited me up to eat out with them. I need to make an extra effort to go up there more. It's a 3 hour + round trip, but it's always seemed to be one sided with him coming down and us not going up much.

Grands are coming today, so it'll be an active morning.
