Rain rain and more rain. Saw gators and flamingoes marching two by two past the house today......

This was Halloween at JC Wyatt house in St Joseph MO.  People made reservations tonight for next year.

Yes, the yarn tossing was horrible.... Chris said he felt like he needed to go home and take all the sharp objects out of the house🤣

I finally got the yard mowed. It was running late with all the hot weather which so far has had just enough rain mixed in to keep it growing. It's still 90's but the heat index didn't get to the 100's, so it felt much better. Thank goodness my younger son lives close and has mechanical abilities. The mower wouldn't run right, then wouldn't crank, but he got it going.

It's been a busy week and I'm so ready for a quiet weekend. I had all four grands for 10 hours yesterday and the three younger ones for 4+ today. I feel really OLD! Two trips to the vet this week--one to take the cat and then pick her up.

I do have some chores this weekend--I want to get clothes washed up and need to stack chairs, etc at the pool. Ida is predicted (at this point anyway) to come close to right over us. We're far enough inland that it shouldn't be too bad, just never know how much wind and rain there might be.

Well, off to figure out something for supper and prop my feet up.

Good Morning everyone.

First I was to say Be Careful and Be Ready for those in the path of Hurricane Ida.  It looks like it will be a Cat 4.  Right now it is showing New Orleans, but once it gets into the Gulf, who knows.  We will be thinking and hoping all is well after it makes landfall.

Not much going on here.  From what I could read of the report from the MRI, they found NOTHING.  Next is the EMG or nerve test.  This pain, can not be from arthritis only.  I just want to get rid of it.  I know, I know I sound like a baby,

Good for you Pineknott for losing the walker.  That is what I am working toward.

Off to make breakfast.

Have a fun day.

Mary Jo, constant pain is so wearing on you. If you don't get answers, consider a pain specialist. DH got referred to one originally for an injection in his back because of numbness in his hand. Then a number of years later was having pain down both legs and they did an injection for that and no more pain.

I'm glad it's the weekend, but not really sure why as every day is pretty much the same as the day before. I suppose I'm a creature of habit. LOL

My GS came by to visit yesterday and I surprised him with crochet toys for his 2 cats and a notebook laptop for school. Was he ever surprised! He tried college right after high school and got caught up in working too much, so had to drop out. He changed his major from law enforcement to radiology. His girlfriend is going for her RN degree so she may have had some influence on him. That and being a few years more mature, he's realized the importance of further education and is not taking too much on at once. I'm so proud of him!

Not much going on here except the heat. 101° again today but, at least the nights are cooling off to the low 70's.

It's so frustrating with our bodies deteriorating on us. I do my best to hang in there and try to stay positive. Have a grand weekend!

Popping in to say hello. We were supposed to have a huge storm yesterday as hurricane Nora out of Mexico came crashing in, but, it went all around my area and not one drop of rain and very little wind. The storm literally went around us, thank God. We may have a little rain from it this evening, but no worries.  My weather woes are not even comparable to what Hurricane Ida has destroyed. I pray for all effected.

I haven't crocheted for several days due to a sore shoulder joint, but was able to pick up the afghan and add a few rounds last night. I'm looking forward to Lucy's Attic24 new pattern Yuletide Blanket coming out sometime the first part of September. I have a ton of scrap yarn this would be perfect for as a next project. Plus, some scarves and potholders for Christmas gifts. Time permitting, there might be a few placemat sets too.

Hoping all are able to enjoy the day!

That's another pretty one from Lucy's Attic24. I just wish her patterns didn't have sooo many ends to weave in. Glad you missed the storm.

We're so far getting light rain that increased to moderate late this afternoon--about 1 1/2" so far. Same with the winds--mid 20's, gusting to mid 30's. Hopefully it won't get any worse than that. It's supposed to move more to the east than originally forecast. No local power outages.

So glad to hear everyone so far is doing ok after the hurricanes.

Love the afghan, but boy what a lot of color changes.

Nice day today.  Got some wash done.

Tomorrow the boys come to clean.

Have a good night.

Good Afternoon! Doing well here today. Three nights in a row I was able to sleep for a change. Yay!

I found out yesterday a small town (more like a village of 2200) 30 miles north of us got hit pretty bad by the storm Sunday. No power until possibly by tomorrow as many power lines were knocked down and destroyed. It wouldn't be so bad except for the excessive heat. We had a bit of a soft rain here last night and a few hits of lightning. More rain predicted late this afternoon here. My DD in northern Calif just texted me to say South Lake Tahoe (one of my old stomping grounds) forests are closed down due to another huge fire (under investigation). All are under evacuation in the forest areas. Trying times!

Lucy at Attic 24 must get therapy out of weaving ends in. 😅 I don't like them either and don't weave in ends as I go since I am prone to needing to frog some rounds- Ugh. But I persevere and hang in there. It's usually always worth it.

Hope all have a wonderful day!

Reni, did you see the video of the man playing the fiddle while stuck in traffic during the evacuation?

Glad you got some sleep!

Mona: I did see that video. The destruction from the fire is devastating. Now I wonder if my aunt and uncle's cabin they used to own was burned down or at risk. Many good memories were from that place.

We had rain again last night off and on. Good rain though, not a downpour. I'm not sure yet about the surrounding area. More rain coming early afternoon. I hope it's not when I go for a doctor appointment. I'm off of here now as I just heard thunder. Enjoy the day!

Bad news. I had a dr apt today, he couldn’t find baby’s heartbeat with the Doppler so they took me to a different room to do quick ultrasound and did t see one so they sent me across the street to hospital perinatal department to do a proper scan just to make sure. Confirmed that baby had passed :( so I am now in a labor and delivery room at 17 weeks being induced so so I can deliver and name my baby. Please just keep me and Miss Jade in your prayers. I have no idea how I’m going to tell her that her baby is gone :(

Prayers and Hugs Lacey, I have walked this path myself a couple times, its heart breaking... you are not alone... Allow yourself to grieve, ask for help when you need it, this little one was every much your baby as Jade, give yourself time to circle in the family and heal as you need... Hugs and Prayers

Good morning.  Rain has left for a while.  The pool is full, the grass and trees are green and growing like crazy.  Heaven help us when the sun comes up.

Have fun today.
