Working in front loop

Nicolapen

Question

Doing HDC stitches in the front loop of previous row hdc flo stitches. Is there a way to bring up less of the front loop so stitches on the end of rows are less gappy.

Picture to hopefully show what i mean

Less of an issue in the middle of a pattern

If the edge is going to 'show' like in your photo, tweaking the pattern so all the edge stitches are all 'normal' HDC would be a simple fix, and might give the item a slightly more finished look.  It would also be sturdier as you'd be going thru 2 loops not 1; if this is a blanket or a washcloth this would be a good thing.

@grannysquare Thanks for the tip. I should have asked my question sooner but did not think of it. Having already done about a quarter of the pattern i am reluctant to frog it and start again

If i put a border all around would that makes the gaps less noticeable
