Stuck on a pattern!

Jenni

Question

Hello, I’m trying to make a blanket from a uk pattern and feel really stuck!
does anyone know what the below means in terms of how many stitches go in previous stitches:

3ch (counts as 1tr now and throughout) working into the top of corresponding stitches 1tr, * 1tr2tog, 2tr, tr3inc into next st, 2tr, 1tr2tog, rep from * to last 2sts, 2tr, turn, join in B.

I’m not sure if a comma means the next stitch e.g. 1tr2tog, 2tr... does that mean 1tr2tog in one stitch and then 2tr in the next? Or both in one stitch?

Thank you so much to anyone who can help!

First off I want to make sure you realize a UK tr is a US dc.

The way the pattern is written I take it to mean

1tr2tog --combine 2 stitches together from previous row into 1 tr on row you are working on

2tr--shorthand for make 1tr in next stitch, make 1tr in next stitch (not 2 tr into 1 stitch as that would be an increase)

tr3inc into next stitch--make 3 tr all in next stitch
