Identify Stitch

Question

Posted

Anyone know if this is a Hdc V-stitch or dc V-stitch or alternating one round of each? I've asked the person 3x since October on her site and have not received an answer.

Total guess, but the white rows closest to the camera looks like DC to me (dc, ch1, dc), and the closest green row above that looks shorter, but the way the fabric isn't flat, it's hard to tell if it's HDC or SC.  But the white rows farther away from the camera look like shorter stitches.

I wonder if the maker did what I often do in doilies (center out as this looks to be)--change the stitch height in a round here and there as needed to keep it flat, so no rhyme or reason design-wise, just ruffling or cupping mitigation-wise.  In my case the piece is usually monochrome and the design usually changes every round so is (hopefully) not too obvious, but it would be harder to get away with in a piece like this.

Thank you for your info Granny Square. I'm going to try out a swatch and see how it looks.

I think this cowl might be the stitch:

All searches take me to her website but I can't find the square/rectangle afghan.  Finally found it on her instagram as sneak peek of a new angel.

Maybe the cowl pattern will get you started.  There is a slouch beanie that goes with it.

Her website is a bit ad filled.  Sorry.

Hope those help some.  :)

Thanks Empress Busy Bee! I'll check this out too. I don't too often get obsessed with a pattern or stitch, but I did with this one! LOL. I'd love to make some throws out of it for the local Women's Shelter.

I found her post and as I understand what she wrote, it looks like her afghan was a WIP also. She is who I posted messages to and never got answers. I have one other option to message her. Maybe that will help.
