I'm Jamie, and I've been a crochet junkie for 1 year.

I consider myself to be largely self taught, as I don't feel right claiming that one time as a child that my grandma taught me about chaining and single crochet. The time that was my first and last attempt at learning as a child. Although I really wish I could claim that, and that she was here to teach me now and to give her approval of things I make.

That said, evey time I crochet anything at all, she is at the forefront of my mind, and I feel close to her again. To be honest, even if I didn't really care for crocheting, I might do it every so often anyhow just for that feeling.

My granny was what I consider to be a crochet master. She is my inspiration, and her level is my goal. She would make giant and beautiful tablecloths, straight from her head, using 10 thread and an itty bitty hook. I really hope that kind of beauty just flows from my fingertips someday too.

My dream is to make garments and tablecloths as well. Using all kinds of yarn and string, but I'd really love to make garments with thread.

So far, I've only made amigurumi, and one dog sweater (that became a Capelet instead since I failed at making a gauge swatch and estimated some things wrong). 

Most importantly... I'm a mother to 2 kids (my daughter is nearly 21 and my son just turned 19) and a Standard Poodle named Olive.  I also like to cook and try strange or foreign foods, macrame, plants, learning new languages, attempting to crochet things that are beyond my current abilities\level and gifting everything I make to my loved ones (so far anyway....)

Hope this isn't too many pictures... As I was trying to choose the images that best represented me, I realized that there are many MANY. It was hard to choose

I look forward to getting to know everyone and helping where I can.
