Star fast heavy crochet

Oh wow, just looked that up and that's from the American Thread Company, now defunct (was in business 1912-1975).  No, I don't have any, but - are you looking because you found a vintage pattern that calls for it?  What size hook does it call for, we might be able to guess at the thread weight of still-in-business sources.

A lot of 'mid century' patterns used finer yarns that are harder to find now, I'm going to guess (or hope for your sake) that what they call 'heavy' is #10 mercerized cotton, which mostly all you will find now in big box stores in the US.  Mercerized #10 thread patterns usually call for a US #7 steel hook (maybe plus or minus 1 size), finer mercerized threads will call for finer hooks (the smaller the hook and thread size#, the bigger the size designation, which is the opposite of yarn and yarn hooks, just to complicate things).  #20 thread would probably use a size 9 hook, #30 thread probably #12 hook, again plus or minus.

Hi Welcome  to Crochetville from the Gulf Coast of Florida.

Grab your yarn and hooks, put your feet up and sit a spell.

We are always so glad to meet new friends.😁

That is a hard thread to find.  It was sold by the old P&C, but they sold out to Yarnspiritians and they discontinued it.  Good luck in finding it.
