Skipping a stitch - HELP

DeniseBerg

Question

My pattern asks for a single crochet in the first stitch, then skip one stitch, it the third stitch create a single crochet.

This is when I get confused, it then says go back to second stitch and create a Single crochet, I can’t figure out where to “go back”

im then supposed to skip fourth stitch and sc in the 5th then insert back to stitch 4 and sc and so on and so on.

please help!!

you 'go back' to the stitch you skipped, put the stitch there.  it creates a "crossed" stitch.  it's used to create texture.  it is usually called Crossed or Cross single crochet, there are online tutorials if you need one.
