Pattern Help

BrandyRachelle

Question

Beginner crocheter here!

I have a pattern written as followed:

2blo, 5sc, 2blo, 29sc (36)

So, I know I’m supposed to have 36 stitches in this row, but this doesn’t add up if the Back loop stitches are single crochets. Are the back loops supposed to be 2 single crochets within the same stitch for me to end up with 36 stitches in the end? What am I missing? Thanks!

Do you have 34 stitches in previous row?

If so you would get 36 stitches in this row by working the 2 blo into one stitch.

Since this pattern is written in shorthand sometimes you have to guess and play around.

2+5+2+29 does not equal 36, it equals 38, so there's a problem right there....  UNLESS it defined 'blo' in the 'special stitches' section as '2 sc in the back loop of the next stitch', so 2 blo=4 stitches in that case, then it works.

Thanks for catching that!  Math was always my worst subject.
