Similar to but not quite the second crochet slst pattern down on this page, 'alternating rows of B and iF'  http://new.slipstitchcrochet.com/stitchpatterns.htm  but turning the photo 90 °

edit, this is slip stitch BLO, not it either http://new.slipstitchcrochet.com/backlooponly.htm

What came to mind first tho was (knit) fisherman's rib  https://www.dummies.com/crafts/knitting/designs-patterns/how-to-knit-fishermans-rib-stitch/ , which is close but not quite.

I'm totally not a Tunisian expert, and I'm not finding 1x1 Tunisian ribbing, but I don't think the T purl is right look for what I'm seeing between the 'knits'.

Hi Granny Square. The OP in another group said it's crochet but she never answered what the name of the stitch is. It was a series of stitches she worked on and only names a few of the stitches. 😕

Crochetville is the only crochet group I know of that at least someone will get back with an answer for you. So, I say thank you to all of you.

I just blew up the photo quite a bit, and it looks like behind the horizontal strand between the 'knit' stitches, is another 'knit' stitch--so it is probably reversible.

Oh, duh!! :idea  It just occurred to me to do a google search on the image and found this (never mind)* video for a crochet version of the Knit Fisherman's rib.  It's in Russian, I didn't look beyond the first few seconds but hopefully the visual with the sound off will help.

*site looked legit at first but now appears to be possibly hinky so I deleted the link.

Oh, duh!! :idea  It just occurred to me to do a google search on the image and found this TUTORIAL video for a crochet version of the Knit Fisherman's rib.  It's in Russian, I didn't look beyond the first few seconds but hopefully the visual with the sound off will help.

Oops! The link didn't work for me. It said the page was suspended.

ETA: Maybe it's this one?  Rib Stitch

Oh that's weird, what the heck?  Sorry!!  I will edit my other post to take the now-weird link out.  The page I saw earlier at that link was the same photo you shared (stretching the swatch), and another not stretched, with a video.

But that other one you found looks very close, yay!!  One thing I noticed about your first photo was it looked like there was an extra strand to the knit-looking stitch--instead of \/, it was more like \\/.  The one at your second link doesn't have that extra strand, so is a little closer to a knit-look.

That extra strand was the reason I liked the look of the stitch. I want to make a new throw for my sofa, time for a change. I have time to keep looking as family is coming to celebrate all our birthdays- 6 February birthdays! No crocheting for a week. Hope I don't have withdrawels. LOL
