Cannot find what I want so I want to combine patterns

I just wondered where one turns for patterns when they cannot find what they are looking for.     I want to make a heavy and a little bulky sweater type coat but I want the color to be higher in the back, sleeves to be snug at the wrists, with pockets and extend mid thigh.  I am leaning toward a Tunisian afghan hook (will be my first attempt) but.... cannot find a video or book or know of anyone who has any insight.  Any ideas appreciated.

I'm assuming that you have made garments before.  Kim Guzman is a treasure chest full of Tunisian crochet and the different stitches. Here's her main website with links to her videos, patterns, etc.

I found this one. Not sure if it's anything like what you are looking for. You can continue working the body of the sweater until you get the length that you want. and change the hood to a collar. It's in Tunisian.
