Cable crochet help

Hi, I am hoping someone can help with this as I am totally confused.  No problems with front side of cable (sk next 3 sts, fpdc around next 3 sts, working in front of last 3 sts, fpdc around skipped sts).  After I turn work to (ws) complete next row of BPDC, it is pulling the stitches straight again and I am losing the crossing of the cable.  What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

I'm stumped.  Is this a motif that only has a few rows to go?  I think I'd be tempted, even tho it might be confusing, to 'rewrite' it to work it same side facing, so it would be easier to see what you needed to do to get the cable to behave.

Is this a free pattern on the net?  If so, could you link to it?

Sorry, but not a free pattern, but I think your idea of a "rewrite" is definitely interesting. Thanks for suggestion.

What's the name of the pattern / where is it from? Maybe someone here has crocheted it before.
