Hello everyone. The days are going by too fast lately and I'm having a trouble finding time to get here. I hope everyone is doing well. Nothing too exciting here, working and babysitting my granddaughter. This weekend I'm spending some time with my other grandchildren. I hope you are all enjoying the weekend.

Krys winter is worse in your area than here.  Seems like stuff starts forming here and whooshes your way getting worse as it goes.  Sometimes we luck out and it forms just missing us.  I dont like hot and humid either----makes me feel like I am going to keel over.

We got up to 13° today.  They are showing 60° for Mon.

Lucky you! :)

Good Morning all!

After last weekend we need a weekend with no plans so my husband can study for his upcoming medical boards. Had my monthly DAR meeting yesterday then met a friend for coffee to stay out of the house longer .

Church last night then home to watch Justice League . DVRd it a while ago.

Nothing planned for today. I still havent started reading Julie Andrews' memoir that I bought in November so I might do that today.

hi all  well after at least 20 minutes, i fixed some settings on my gmail as i am tired of searching the emails for those sent, so i put a button on my gmail for it lol what!! did i just do a tekki thing myself??? I will have to share that with my tekki experts daughter and son in heart lol  😍( aka son in law but that is so cold and unfeeling dont you think lol  ) I almost called him at his work the other day, and asked to speak to the birthday boy, s it was his bday, 👑 but at the last moment and a  second thinking, lol i called him at home lol  they were both surprised i remembered lol  i didnt let them in on the fact that now that i have a wall calendar, it is down for at least this year :yeslol  next year will be a new experience im sure lol  🙄

Im thinking about getting that supplement for memory, but now, i dont remember its name lol  only that i think it starts wit g or maybe p?? i dunno lol..:confused

saw the sun today,, its still out but fading a bit ii think  less cold today for sure and lost that darn wind you know  🌞💨

saw a yellow tabby in the yard this am, that reminded me of my dear yum yum kitty, 🐈  those yellow tabbies are so smart!! now i know lots of people with cats but normal cats kind of, and i can see for myself how intelligent my  Maxie is lol  super cat!!🐈

Speaking of cats, daughter took her calico in for her 10 year check up, she had  BIRTHDAY TOO :cheer lol and she is in great health so all is well with Pixel!!🐱

oh, started another  ghan for either bailey or segi, dont know what size it will be yet, but one or the other  now the other 2 i had completed, i had a bunch of trouble on row 13 :eek on both!! same pattern large granny square, no unusual stitches, and still on row 13 on both of them i discovered something wrong in a row and ended up frogging some rows to correct it!! i said to myself, if this one screws up on row 13, there is something to worry about, but sailed right through it perfectly  this time!!:applause  Whew < says a thank you prayer lol )👍

and so, life goes on, right, ups downs, 🎭 ins and outs, back and forths, and hard and easy sometimes huh  keeps things interesting i guess  !!:think

welcome back Carol, your dreams are your ticket out, lol  couldn't resist the song welcome back Kotter  lol  Travolta's first step huh  has anyone ever seen that movie he starred in called Michael??I loved that show  he played Michael, an angel :manyheart

well ladies of the hook, and gents that might be dropping in, thats all i got for now, back to work i go!!❣️singing kotter song as she skips out of the room!!  rolf!! :loco

Horay for Maxie Super-Cat! :). Some of those cats are very smart :). Some are not so smart and some others are really stupid LOL. My daughter use to own a beautiful cat, he looked like a "Gizmo", like a stuff toy.. Long hair, flat face. So beautiful you just want to look at him and hug him forever.... BUT, OMG!! How stupid & crazy that cat was. On the end he killed him self, because of crazy things he did.  By now I forgot what he did that costed his life..

I think my daughter have a tendency to get those really crazy animals. Right now she got 2 cats & 2 dogs. One of her cats her name is Pandy, she is just not normal. She lives in her  "own world" and dos very crazy things... There is something mentally wrong with that poor cat since she was very young. The other cat I think she must be a Ferro cat. That cat is not crazy but the way she behaves reminds me a lot of Ferro cats. She got her from Pet Shelter. And yes their is that crazy Pug who bites me and dos other crazy things....like jumps on your chest with a speed, when you are a sleep. He is over 30 pounds. When he did that to me I thought it was the end of me, I could not breath. That Pug will destroy everything. He will chew to pieces your IPhone, TV remote, sleepers even my medication.  That includes my arms, my legs. EVERYTHING goes!. It is very bad.

Out of her four animals there is only one small dog that is kind a normal, that you could live with LOL.

Lea come on up!

I have heard at some of the promotional events (so dont know how true it is) that there is not another place like this one.  It is a not for profit and 3 residents sit on the board.  There is a resident general counsel made up of district reps.  There are 5 districts that are made up of neighborhood groups.  This is all in regards to this place and not city or county.

Thurs was frigid.  Today a very light jacket will do.  Thurs my friend that lives nearby picked us up and we went to our friend's mother's funeral.  It was the first Jewish one we had attended.  Since my friend drove we treated her to lunch.  Got back in time to attend Town Hall meeting with our area manager.  They go over how many units are full and number of residents, upcoming events, and any issues they need to go over.  They always have refreshments.  It was one of the special nights when our favorite place was serving supper so we ate supper there.  They had noticed us missing the couple of days in a row we missed for lunch.  Fri they had a special Valentine-- lunch pork with an apricot glaze or beef wellington, comes with choice of 2 sides, roll or cornbread ( the sweet kind so for me its cake) and a drink.  For Valentine's day they threw in a cookie extra. After lunch dh went to practice with dulcimer group here at the village and I worked on bills and laundry then dh took me to Perkins for Valentine's day.  Sat morning was dulcimer club.  I went to the pool in the afternoon and then stopped at one of the restaurants for supper (end of cycle and need to use up that dining credit).  This morning we went to church.  After lunch I got to go to the pool again.  I want to start going every day.

Good Morning.  Happy Belated Valentine's Day to everyone.

Yesterday was my Anniversary, 49 years, so I took the day off.  We spent a nice quite day without news and anything that will annoy either of us.  We had a nice steak and lobster tail with butter noodles for dinner.  It is a special dinner we have every year.

Happy Anniversary to you, a couple days late!!!  We'll be celebrating our 52nd anniversary this June!  Seems like forever, doesn't it---and yet just yesterday!!!  Sounds like your celebration was just fine!!!  And a belated Happy Valentine's Day, as well!

Ok, Lea, it is like bringing the outdoors indoors.  As long as it is out of the way, it is fine.

Fascinating place you live Brenda.  I have never heard of a place that was non-profit, of course I have not really been looking. I am happy where I am and I do not plan to leave ever.

I just finished a dress that is suppose to fit a 14 1/2" doll, but the top is the stupidest I have ever seen.  I hope I can fix it, as I do not want to rip it apart or throw it out.

Oh well, it is getting late, I must make dinner and then get out the medication for tomorrow.

Have a great evening.

Oh by the way, I just posted some doggies I made, they are in the show N tell.

Krys come along too.  They had a dj one night.  I didnt make it over to check it out but heard people had a good time dancing.  They also play a lot of cards and bingo.

Mary Jo I think being a not for profit and being run more like a coop makes it different from a lot of places.  We dont have a corporation in LA or New York calling the shots.  Since it is a not for profit the volunteer hours are very important as far as the state.  The thift store and gift shops are run by volunteers.  The thrift store also has a food pantry for residents that need help.  Gift shop also has milk, bread, cereal, etc. in case someone cant get to a store.  There is an ice cream parlor in care center run by volunteers.  They use volunteers to pass water and wheel people to cafeterias and salons---theres at least 2 hair salons. Time spent making prayer shawls count as volunteer hours.  They also have ceramics, different painting groups, coloring group, scrapbooking-----lots of things I havent had time to check into.  They have their own ambulances and security.

Dh went to his class this morning.  We worked on laundry and cleaning house----apartments looking better and better as they come with a cleaning lady and flat laundry service.  Lunch at our favorite place and then off to grocery store.  Dh spent rest of afternoon on golf course (60° here today) while I put away groceries and finished laundry.  Darn had to cook supper tonight!

Brenda your place as "none-profit" sounds like they are really what they  say they are.

NOT all of those "none-profit" what you think they are . So please be very careful  even when donating your money. There is a lot of crook around...

I was a little worried, but not anymore.  I have a friend who works for an assisted living place and believe me it is all bout money.  I know, you are not in that section, but I have never heard of a place like yours.  It is great and you get to keep busy.

Good Morning everyone.  It is a beautiful and warm morning.

Not much planned for today, except for wash.

So have a fun day today.

Mary Jo I dont know a lot about assisted living here yet.  I do know my niece and nephew's grandma was moved here from another facility so I should be able to get the inside scoop.  Ran into her once and been meaning to go visit.  Its farthest away from us and we have been busy with getting things transferred so we havent wandered thru the area very much.  They just opened up a new wing and its almost full.  I know independent living residents volunteer there.  One of the things they do is escort them to eat, to hair salon, and to activities and help with activities.  I saw the months list when we were walking thru and thought wow looked like some fun stuff.   For instance assisted living is having a craft show (not a sale) to show off things residents have made.  They play games and have little parties, book club. I did see they had a sunroom type area where they could sit and saw a room with puzzles and games.  I think the chair yoga classes are in that building.   Another thing here the employees are called associates and so far feel more like friends.  At first we were constantly apologizing when we called maintenance over or asking so many questions at the dining places.  They kept telling us not to apologize.  They wouldnt be here if it wasnt for us.  It might feel different in the care center and assisted living. They have been dealing with a serious RN shortage but looks like they may have solved that one by working with a group to bring in nurses from the Philippines. They have a code of ethics in the contract you sign.  It feels like everyone seems to know the CEO and he feels. very approachable.  He approached us and started up a conversation early on.  Thats when I found out he worked with my mom and thought a lot of her.  He attends various functions and we see him eating on campus and greeting residents. They have meetings for residents over the financial status of the place.  They have a foundation that raises money and has helped out with purchasing ambulances, gym equipment, and this year it will be for a new transportation van or two.  It is also where the money comes from if residents that bought the home for life option somehow run out of money.   Still a lot to learn.

Lea she's beautiful just like her aunt!  Shoot its better for any kid to play hard so you can get them to bed early enough to finish doing what you need to do.

It was good to not have today filled with things.  Just over to lunch and then back again for supper and entertainment which I really enjoyed.  We took advantage of our free time this afternoon to break up with AOL as our ISP. Fingers crossed they get it right so we dont lose that email address but since we seldom use it anymore it would be no great loss.  I think that was the last thing we needed to take care of in regards to moving---- key word think as there is probably something we did not think of.
