Help with instructions!

Question

Hi, please could someone help with the following;

*dc4, 2dc in next st*. Repeat around (30 sts)

I get the dc4, 2dc in next st.....but does 2dc in next st count as one st or two? Not sure if you repeat in the same stitch it is counted as one or more stitches?

Hope that makes sense?!!!🙁

Thanks!

The (30 stitches) is the number of stitches you should have in that row or round when you go back and count each individual stitch you made.  2 dc in next stitch counts as 2 stitches.

^ What she said.  Think of it this way - count the stitch tops at the end of the current row, the stitch 'bottom' counts were the stitch tops of the prior row and are now irrelevant.

@Co11 hi! I recently found out myself and no this counts as one stitch! 2 become 1. Hope this helps.

Edit: the easiest way to check it is to count your stitches at the end of each round. They should then add up to 30 or whatever number the pattern indicates

Hi, another question! Does dc2tog class as 2 stitches as well?

Thanks!

The dctog is turning 2 stitches from the previous row into 1 stitch on the row you are working on.
