I’m working on the Quick Cocoon Shrug and my scarf. The shrug is much easier now that I got some stitch markers! No skeins used up yet, though, so:

I'd love to join this year again and hopefully I'll not fall of the band wagon of posting again! But I have a logistics question. I've gotten into Sock knitting or at least buying sock yarn! (because we all know buying yarn and using yarn are two different hobbies.) and I've gotten some sock sets which is a 100 gram skein and then a 15-20 gram mini skein. Do I need to count the mini skein as 1 point or 2 points? cuz woooooo buddy I have a really big negative score this week if i do...

so if i count each mini as only 1 point i would have -21 this week if i have to count them as 2 points each I have -34

ALSO how awesome is it that I perfectly match these two minis!! ^^^^^

Pretty colors, Malisa! Generally, whatever size/form the new yarn is counts as -2. But however you decide, of course, you only count as many out as you do in. If it's -1 coming in, then it's +1 going out. The rules have some flexibility as long as the in and out are equal.

Thank you Pam!! I'm at row 174 out of 250 but there's only a couple more complicated rows before it gets really simple. I'm hoping to get this done in the next week or two, so I can move on to smaller, simpler projects. I feel like 2018 was the year of the big & complicated stuff and I'm looking forward to more fun projects that don't make me cry when I realize I goofed lol.

I'm really excited about a project I might have gotten started today at my church! The Pastor wants someone to be in charge of giving a gift (on behalf of the church) to each new baby born to our congregation. I love making baby stuff, so I thought it would be great if I could make a small (carseat sized) blanket to be given, with the church funding the yarn purchases. I spoke with the woman in charge of the ministry and she loves the idea. She's going to get the Pastor's approval, and then give me the go-ahead. I've got an idea for a simple design that I'l draw up sometime this week. Once she gives me the all-clear, I'll make a couple to have on-hand because we tend to have waves of pregnancies at the church and now is a good time to get ahead of the game lol. So if you see me mention "church blankets" in the future, this is what I'll be talking about 😁

I finished a skein on the doilyghan and I might finish a ball as well - looking good to start the year.  (same doilyghan for 3 weeks :sigh )

:lol I agree! I didn't get to post Sat. so I'll add it to this week. A friend gave me a $10 gift card and a coupon "spend $25 - get $5 off" for Michael's, so I'm starting the year in the negatives. I got Christmas messages from 2 nieces showing family photos with ultra sounds. So my 3 yr. old grand-niece is going to be a big sis. and my niece, who was married last June, is expecting her 1st. I have to make 3 afghans now, 1 for a co-worker and 2 for my 2 nieces. I have started the afghan needed in April, the other 2 are for June and July. I went through my stash and decided I needed new :yarn for my nieces. So I took everything I wasn't going to use and donated it to the knit/crochet group I joined. Some balls, partial skeins and 5 full skeins, all totaled + 21 :yay  .  I went to Michael's I found the perfect :yarn and it was on sale :lol . I was only going to get 8 skeins, but with buy 2 & get 1 free, I had to get 12 (- 24). So $54 of :yarn became $36, then with the coupon and gift card I paid $21. I hope I can get my score up by Sat.

Good morning! I took a short break this morning from work.

I was only able to work 2-3 rows each night on the cardigan before I fell asleep in the chair. 😴 At the office by 7 and leaving around 6. Phew!

I manage to use 1 of the skeins on the knitted cardigan that I reclaimed from the crochet cardigan. +2

Have a great day!

I did finish a skein working on the dress to go with my doilyghan but it means I ran out of my Aran yarn - have to find another colour to finish the set.

I have started on a dolly blankie that is semi mindless.

I have to decide if it is worth a -20 to replace my Aran yarn.  I like to have it on hand :think decisions, decisions  :rofl

Ya know- if it is their intention to make emoticons so difficult to use that we just stop; it's working

I'm back into the swing of things, started the week with plus 5,then noticed Walmart started carrying an old favorite Mainstays, picked up 2 varigated to alternate on scarves with solid colors,I like it when I  can get a multi color that I can use about 4 or 5 differents colors and have them look totally different.

So that brought me down to + 1,added four new colors of small balls + 4,rolled 3  wonky skeins into balls +3 ,its early in the day,but if I don't get this on here now,it might get forgotten later on

I have spent all spare time :crocheting 2 shades of blue and white squares for a baby afghan. Rolled down the blues, but hardly used the pounder of white (+ 2) :cheer. I need 20 more squares, I hope I have enough :yarn . It's  so cold :wbrr here, I'm going to :crocheting the rest of today and all day tomorrow. Maybe I'll get this afghan done.

oh ho ladies!!! I got a jump on some spring cleaning, no I haven't jumped on the KonMari method but I knew I needed a good organize. and I've got two HUGE bags of yarn that I've collected over the years from various people giving me their great grandma's stash or buying me yarn that is a color or style that I don't like. I now have two bags of donation yarn!

so I have a whopping +147 after my negatives from earlier in the week!

I’ve been largely sidelined this week due to a horrendous cold. I went to the doctor, thinking I had strep throat, but it’s just a cold, thankfully.  The beautiful thing was that my doctor ordered me to take the next day OFF. 🤣

The irony is that, due to not schlepping out to do things after work or evenings, I’ve had oodles of time to crochet, so I’ve managed to go through a skein working on the shrug.
