Hello, I'm new to crochet and I'm having a problem with a pattern. Hope some one can help. I'm trying a pattern for a unicorn cushion. It's simple enough but, from row 3 I'm a bit confused. What does *2dc, dc1 mean? Row 4 is * 2dc, dc2 and so on through the rows.

Hello and welcome!

I agree with Alostlady2.  I found several unicorn pillow patterns, and most started in the middle, and made a circle.

The recipe for a circle for SC is usually: start with 6 sc, and add 6 more  sc each round.  To do this, in the second round you make 2 sc into 1 stitch, 1 into the next, repeat.  Round 3 would be 2 sc into 1 stitch, 1 into each of the next 2 stitches repeat. Round 4 would be 2 sc into 1 stitch, 1 into each of the next 3 stitches repeat.  See the pattern developing?  One more 'plain' stitches added between increases, each round.
