Pattern Help Filet Crochet

Hi,

Recently purchased an old pattern for a jacket filet crochet got thru the back and 2 fronts but not sure on the sleeves. Starting with row 4 is where I have the problem-it says follow chart work from f to e. Work in pat as established, inc 1 sp each side every 21/2" 4 times working added sts into pat 23 sps and bls. my question is am I increasing on 1 time and then cont in pat til I do 2 1/2" then inc again the same 3 more times? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would interpret this the same way you did, a total of 4 increases spaced 2.5 inches apart from each other.  I'm guessing the part at the end is a sanity check of how many spaces and blocks you should end up with after the increases are done.
