Pineapples

Question

Had anyone ever tried doing the classic pineapples with double crochet stitches instead of trebles?

Hi, is this related to your question on the forum group above this one, specifically about Doris Chan's Exploded Pineapple pattern (to which I just replied, before seeing this post)?  If so, and you subbed doubles for triples...no wonder it's ruffling.  Best not to sub stitches when working in the round unless you find you HAVE to make adjustments (to avoid ruffling or cupping), to maintain the diameter to circumference ratio.

I was following the pattern and making the triples and wondering if  could sub doubles and make that work, but no need now, thanks though!
