Hi all, 

I have just started to crochet and am loving it

I am getting to grips with the pattern reading and am stuck what this means...

Round 2 - 5:1sc in each stitch

Please help :)

What that means is... rows 2 thru 5 will only have single crochet stitch in them.

Welcome from me too!  

The pattern is telling you two things: what stitches to make and where to place them.  So for each of these rounds, (rounds 2,3,4,5) you will make one sc stitch into each stitch of the previous round.  It will help if you put a marker into the last stitch of round one so you will know when you've completed the next round.  Then mark the last stitch of each round also.  At the end of round five, when you count the stitches in that round , it should be the same number as you had in round one.
