Re-Dye 100% Cotton Yarn

Hello all

Does anyone have advise on re-dying 100% cotton yarn. I purchased a large lot of Araucania in a colorway I don't find appealing at all ($1 per skein). 

I've played around with Kool-Aid dying with wool, but that's really the extent of my knowledge. 

I figure I may as well try to re-dye it or I will never use it.

I realize this is an old thread I'm replying to -- so hopefully you already found your answer to this! But yes, you can usually overdye cotton yarn to get a better color.
