Please help with unknown stitch

This is a blanket I won years ago and I would like to make one.  I do not know what the stitch is called to make the pretty braids.

Could someone please help if they know how this is done?

There are 3 lines of a braided type of stitch.   Does someone know the name of this stitch?

Hi, welcome to the Ville!  That is a beautiful blanket!  I don't know that I've ever seen that braided stitch pattern before.  I will look through some patterns to see if I can find it.  But it's possible the maker created their own pattern rather than using a published one.

Well I went to one site I know has crochet cables but it wasn't there.  

It reminds me of a Jacobs ladder but I don't know if that fits in with the row direction of your blanket...maybe if it was done in strips....  here's a tutorial, it'd be easier to see what the "braid" looks like if the yarn was a solid color.  http://crochetncrafts.com/how-to-make-a-jacobs-ladder-crochet-stitch/
