2D Pineapple Pattern?

Hi!

I am looking for a 2D motif pattern of a pineapple fruit (not a pineapple stitch!) that I can crochet into a recurring pattern as a colour change on a baby blanket.

The babys mum love pineapples and I'm struggling to find anything that isn't pineapple stitch, which as someone who doesn't crochet she probably wont get the reference.

 

Any ideas would be massively appreciated thank you!

Off hand I didn't find anything like that but I only did a quick search.  Maybe someone else knows of something.  You could try something like a dishcloth and sew them to squares:

Or how about these pillow squares.  Just skip making them pillows and make as many squares as you need.  Not 2-D I know, but an idea.

I'm not sure this pattern is what you're looking for, but, maybe it will at least put you on the right track.

This pattern is a 3.5 inch keychain. It includes her link for one about 14 inches. It's made with 2 panels and without reading the pattern, it is probably in Au/UK crochet terms and needs to be translated to US crochet terms.
