Have you ever worked a cable pattern before?  The STITCH is the same as the normal ones, it's just that they are made in a different order.

In Row 2, working right to left, you are making stitch 1 & 2 in the usual order, then skipping the spaces for stitch 3 and 4 would be, then making stitches in stitch 5 & 6 in the row below, then, filling in the holes left when you skipped stitches 3 & 4 in the row below.  You are going to have to stretch your hook either in front or behind the stitches you just made in 5 & 6 below to do this -- the pattern is telling you to reach behind.

I think in row 3 you meant chain 3, *dk (I assume sk/skip) the first 2 stitches, make stitches into stitch 3 & 4 below and then work into the skipped stitches--in this case you are having to reach in front of the stitches in the 3&4 position.

It's a little odd that they said 'not around front and back' on both of those lines.  Unless they meant not to turn?
