Cotton yarn

I am jumping into cotton crocheting for my granddaughters American doll.  I am not familiar with the sizes, does anyone understand it?  I could use some help..

If you are asking the size of cotton yarn, it is ww.  I use it for everything you use ww or 4 ply yarn.

Some doll clothes are made with crochet thread also which comes in several sizes. The pattern should tell you what to use.

Are you in the US?  US yarns are labeled with a little picture of a skein with a number in it, which shows the weight of the yarn.  Kitchen cotton is typically medium/worsted weight, which is US 'weight 4'.  Paton's Grace has a nicer finish, but is a DK or 'weight 3'  .  Here's a chart that gives more info on yarn weights
