Pillow & afghan design question

I made an afghan in an open ripple style & 1 pillow in a closed style ripple with same colors but different color sequence. I'm going to make another pillow in same colors but was wondering if I should do second pillow in same pattern as other pillow or could I use a different pattern than the others? I see many crochet afghans sets with only 1 pillow, is this the norm? or would 2 be better? Seeking opinions

You're asking for an aesthetics opinion and the answers will be as different as people's taste.  Think about fabric design choices.  Some like stripes that match, some like wide stripes and narrow stripes together, while others like stripes and polka dots together, and yet others don't like stripes at all.  Having said that, my opinion is that as long as you use the same colors and yarn, the second pillow will look like it belongs.  What do you think about doing the second pillow in the same color pattern and ripple style as the first one, except making the ripples length-wise?

The normal is no pillows.  LOL  When there are pillows, I personally like 2 of them.

I don't make pillows for afghans but, if they were requested I would certainly oblige.
