I found this pattern on nerdigurumi. For anyone who has never used that site, it's wonderful. You can really tell she knows every stitch and its interaction with other stitches as well as the overall project. I find she has very detailed patterns and she puts a lot of thought and work into them. Her tutorials are great as well.

 

Anyway, I put the pellets inside panty hose sacks in the head and body so even if it's squeezed hard, none will pop out.

I use the pantyhose pieces also before stuffing the crochet. Saves a lot of grief when putting it inside crochet and less worry about the filling be dangerous to little ones.

Tip: I use a low-heat glue gun and apply glue around the pantyhose opening after tying a knot, to ensure it does not come loose from play.
