If I want to make a shell afghan approximately 200 --210 beginners ch. how many chains to equal 6+1 plus 1? I don't understand the multiple system. Confusing for me. I've read articles on it and I'm more confused after I read them. Thanks a lot for your time and have a nice evening.

6+ 1+ 1 does not make sense to me either. What is the reference for the stitch pattern.....where can we see it?

Its the same as six plus two, multiply six by whatever you like, then add two. But one of the two is actually the turning chain.

Numbers that will work for the neighborhood that you were looking at

33 x 6 = 198, plus 2 = 200

34 x 6 = 204, plus 2 = 206

35 x 6 = 210, plus 2 = 212
