0 Granny Square
The first one is done in either puff or popcorn stitches, similar to this pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/babys-abcs-afghan. Google crochet or cross stitch charted alphabet patterns, there are a bunch of free ones on the net; also a lot at antiquepatternlibrary.org. You can google and print blank graph paper if you don't have any handy to make your design. The second one is a free pattern by Kim Guzman, you can find it here. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/personalized-baby-afghan It's a baby blanket, but you can use the 'graph ghan' idea to make a bigger blanket. Another way to 'write on' crochet is to use surface slip stitch, the nice thing is that you can do it free-hand, write in script, draw pictures etc. after the fact. It's really easy, crochet embroidery. Here's a tutorial http://www.crochetspot.com/how-to-crochet-surface-crochet-or-surface-slip-stitch/
0 ReniC
Here's the link to the pattern on Ravelry. I found it by using her Etsy name on Ravelry.
