How to bobble a stitch?

I'm still pretty new to crocheting and I'm trying a new pattern it asks for me to "sc4, 2dc-bobble2 (6)". I'm assuming this to make the ankle of this leg but I have no idea how to bobble or what it even means. Everytime I try to look it up it just brings me to pages of people adding or making baubles for their projects. Any help is appreciated, though if you know where I could find a video or some such that would be amazing. Thank you so much!!!

a bobble is just a set of stitches in one spot made so that the stitches stick up and form a bump. in this case it is probably 2 dc in the same stitch and finished off as a dc2tog or dc decrease.  

 

but the pattern really should define the term so be sure you have read everything w/ the pattern, before and after it.

 

what is the name and location of the pattern?

Usually when a pattern wants you to use a less common stitch, like a bobble, it gives you instructions for that stitch before the pattern (sometimes after or in the pattern.)  Look for instructions.

 

If you can't find them, then you can use the general bobble instructions ...

0. On the wrong side ...

1. Start a dc stitch, but don't do the last yo, pull through (2 loops on hook)

2. Start another dc in the same stitch, but don't do the last yo, pull through (3 loops on the hook)

3. Repeat 2 adding a loop onto the hook as many times as indicated (typically bobbles are 3-5 partial dcs)

4. Yo and pull through all loops on the hook

5. Ch-1 to secure the bobble

Here are the instructions given with the pattern.

 

2DC-BOBBLE

*YO, insert your hook into the st,

YO, and draw up a loop. YO and pull

through 2 loops. Repeat from * once,

inserting your hook into the same st.

YO and pull through all 3 loops on

hook.

 

3DC-BOBBLE

*YO, insert your hook into the st,

YO, and draw up a loop. YO and

pull through 2 loops. Repeat from *

twice, inserting your hook into the

same st. YO and pull through all

4 loops on hook.

 

Keeping in mind that I haven't worked in rounds hardly at all (I've only lately finally gotten the hang of the magic circle) I have no idea what this is supposed to look like.

 

Instuction for leg from pattern

Rnd1: make magic ring and sc6 (6)

Rnd2: sc in each st (6) I understand till here

Rnd3: sc4, 2dc-bobble2 (6)

Rnd4: sc,change colour, sc5 (6)

Rnd5-10: sc in each st (6)

Rnd11: inc, sc5 (7)

Rnd12-14: sc in each st (7)

Sl st in next st and fasten off

Leave the foot empty, but lightly

stuff the rest of the leg.
