Looking for This Stitch

MaggieSayler

Question

Hi!

I'm a relatively beginner at crochet, but I really wanted to make horse ear bonnets, as they cost $100 and up, so I decided to make my own. I have make a few that look decent, but with the wrong stitch. I have attached an example image of the stitch I am looking for (I think it is a chain double crochet)

However, I cannot find a good tutorial, so if you know of one, I'd be happy to see it

Thanks so much!

I think it's DC, chain 1, repeat;  then next row the same, except you dc over the chain, and chain over the DC in the row below.  It looks like it's worn upside down to the way it's made (you end at the tip of the triangle).  I'm using US terms.

Here are some patterns, some are free

I think it's probably made in a mesh type st so it doesn't get too hot on the horse, not because it has to be made in this particular st. You could use any st you like as long as it has the proper measurements to fit. You could use

dc, ch or

hdc, ch or

sc, ch

if you like the mesh look. Any of them should work out fine as long as you follow the outside edge contours.
